Yeah, message her. Get to know her a bit during the Easter break, see if you have mutual friends, etc. If you message her a few weeks later it's more than likely that things will have fizzled out by then.

On insta I usually dm a girl a post of hers and just make a comment on it. For example, a few weeks ago I met a girl and then the following day instead of dming her "nice to meet you last night" I just sent her one of her posts where her hair was different and said something among the lines of "I swear your hair looked different last night".
Or if we have a mutual friend I'll be like "how do you know so and so". Or if you both follow certain celebs I'll make a comment on that. I've literally gone out with a girl only because we both followed Lil Nas X and that's what I opened with.
If she posts on her story often you can respond to her story as well.
If none of those make sense you can always message something boring or simple. It's much better to message something boring instead of not messaging at all.

Text her and try to see if she is enthusiastic and excited about going out. Don't wait that much the more you wait the more anxious you'll be to text her and overthinking might just ruin things up.
