Going on a first date to the movies
Going to the movies on a second date.
Stop going to the movies dude.
What the heck! you are in a date, so you are supposed to flirt, kiss her, and talk to her and get to know each other, not sit there quiet in a dark room.
You are literally putting yourself in the friendzone which is why she brings her friend, because you are not acting like a lover, you are acting like a platonic friend.
Like watching Batman really? A movie date is bad enough, but do you really think watching a super dark serious movie will lead things to anything romantic?

Going to have to disagree here, movies are a great second date. You’re in a dark room with her for 3 hours, it’s the perfect time to slowly physically escalate and build comfort. It’s not a bad first date either if you go to dinner first.

Build comfort in a place where you have to be quiet? Yeah right.
Escalate things sexually with a girl you barely know in a public place surrounded by tons of people who are watching the movie?
A movie date on a first date where this guy is awkwardly trying to put an arm around her and try to make out when she is not in the right mood?
Sorry but you have no idea what you are talking about and it shows.

Physical comfort. Comfort isn’t just about conversation. In 3 hours in a dark room going from hand holding to hands around shoulders to maybe more, you build a lot of physical comfort and it shouldn’t be hard to go for the make out back in your car after the movie (intentionally park in the back far away from other cars).

I’m sorry but no, i can see this guy awkwardly trying to do that, with tons of people around, and it’s making me cringe.
And the fact that this is “the batman a really dark movie, is just so forced and unnatural like hey sure this guy just beat the hell out of this guy, wanna make out right now?
I’m sorry, but how is that a good place or time to escalate anything, without even knowing her.
Clearly you haven’t been on movie dates, it’s literally the worst place to have first dates with a girl who is pretty much an stranger.
Jesus don’t give such a bad advice, it’s already hard for noobs like him to distinguish bad advice from good advice, and yours is terrible

I’ve been on many movie dates. If you are assertive physically and slowly escalate they go great. If you are passive and just hope for her to make a move, they go awful. Imo, they are great for beginners. If you just have courage to make a move you build lots of physical comfort without having to exert much energy in conversing.

They are not great for beginners at all, and his results show.
If it were great they would have already made out on first date , but now she is bringing another person with them. Clearly it’s not going good for him.
Sorry, but there is like hundreds of places much better than the movies for first dates, and most people are very much aware of this
Going to the movies with an stranger has very low rate of success…

I agree 100%. There are better places to have a first or second date with a girl you barely know well enough.
A walk in a big park, or a pub, or a coffee shop, or any casual environment where the girl doesn’t feel pressured to stay there, if things get weird or awkward between you and her.
A place where if things get uncomfortable then you take one drink and call it a day, rather than being forced or stay there for 3 hours, dying to leave the theatre and go home because the vice just was too awkward and uncomfortable to bare, not to mention that after the cinema you still know nothing about the other person.

The cinema has been found to be the worst place for first dates.

So, yeah, if there is one clear thing you need to change is where you are having dates.
A date is supposed to be about talking with the other person, getting to know each other on a personal level, tease each other banter back and forth, make each other laugh out loud…
In a cinema, you can’t do that or you will be bothering all the people around you and the staff will kick you out.
It is very awkward to sit there with an person you don’t know well enough, trying to make your move all creepy and nervous…
Like one wrong move, when she is not ready which most likely she won’t throughout the entire movie, and she will call you out and you will make her uncomfortable.
You will be begging for the movie to end because of all the embarrassment and awkwardness of having being rejected.
She could even cause a scene and then leave you there alone, and everyone watching and judging you in silence.
And what’s worst is that if you don’t even try anything then you are likely to play it too safe and end up on the friendzone, which is what is going on here, that’s why she brings another person.

Not a lot of ppl in the theaters at night because of COVID. We talked the whole time last movie without disturbing others and it was really fun. Lots of laughs. That being said, she wants to go to dinner first just the two of us so I guess the problem is resolved.

Bro The Batman is almost a 3 hour long movie, best of luck

Thx for the advice y’all. We went to dinner first by ourselves and then the movie. It was the perfect setting as we could joke around easily and not feel weird if there was some silence. Ended up cuddling in the seats and she is coming over tmrw for some Netflix and chill.

I personally don’t like playing games like this. Tell her you want to go out with her one on one, and if she’d rather go with her friend, she’s more than welcome to. Definitely don’t go to the movie with her and the friend.

is the coworker male or female? Either way, perhaps she wants a 3-way
