It can't be avoided, welcome to mammalian life. You won't get dates if you don't approach the person that attracts you. Male, female, other, we all have to experience that awkward first approach and the walk shame when turned down. You just have to deal with it

Either continue approaching or don't approach anyone anymore.
I personally don't think you should stop doing something that makes certain people uncomfortable, as those people don't represent everyone else in their demographic. Some women like being approached and some don't, so either look for the ones that do and make the others uncomfortable, or approach none of them and miss out on the ones that would've been fine with it.

they get hit on/approached all the time. that girls get hit on all the time, especially the hot ones.
they get hit on/approached all the time.
that girls get hit on all the time, especially the hot ones.
See, I keep getting this conflicting things told. Other places I'm told that they don't get approached often because everyone thinks they're taken or something along those lines.
And now here you say they get pretty much swarmed by guys and are even uncomfortable about it.
Seems strange

A woman who's looking for a partner will say not enough men approach her.
A woman who's not looking for anything romantic will say way too many men are approaching her.

Its just girls lying. Embellishing their value. Just because some ugly over aged creepy guy said, you smell good... Suddenly now becomes, all guys hit on them
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Lol I mean I'm pretty sure some of them might not be lying, but it would definitely seem a bit baffling to me that they get approached randomly by dozens of guys at a time.
I've never witnessed this myself, but again that's just my personal observation.

All I'm saying is. Its all exaggerated. Like guys with thier junk size. Girls lie about this stuff
If you ask them in specific one or two times. They wont come up with anything to say. Or will give details of crude and obscene remarks. That is considered harassment and no where near proper approach

some ugly over aged creepy guy said, you smell good...
Lol btw I am ugly myself (not old still young (24), and never told anyone they smell good though).
Would that put me in that category of the "bad guys"?

Im saying that in most cases a creepy guy makes a creepy remark to a girl. And girls assume, that every guy approaches girls like that
You being 24. You can improve your looks. Get style, hit the gym, improve fashion. You can become above average in due time
Then, as long as you dont say creepy shit to girls. You have a chance with the majority of them

Get style, hit the gym, improve fashion.
Style: I'm assuming this means the same as fashion. I think I already dress nice, I probably already spent too much on dress shirts, graphic/white/black tees, nice jeans, denim/leather jackets, watch, rings, and colognes (recently bought a new one). Not really sure I can improve much there.
Gym: Recently started going, already play sports and physical hobbies on weekends
But I don't think that's enough to put me as "above average". Maybe when I go out dressed in the best outfit I'm probably a 4 or 5 at best, but that's probably already pushing it. My height and some acne scaring definitely hold me down (trying to get accutane).
There really isn't a gym or style to improve my face structure or height unfortunately, but I do what I can.
You can become above average in due time
So do I still try and go for "approaching" then or do I hold off on it until I check off all the boxes?

By style i had meant like hairstyle. Facial style. Whatever suits you
Seems you got the gym part already. It does take a year or two to actually make a difference
Allowing yourself to mature in years time also increases your looks naturally. A guy really is at his prime whens hes fully matured. Girls are in their prime early 20s to late 20s. They start losing their value after. Guy is his most attractive late 20s late 30s
Sounds to me like youre average. Everything checks out great. But your age. Acne can be cleaned up. Height is a plus, but it doesnt necessarily hold you down completely. By allowing yourself to mature youll be above average. And can easily go after 7/8s mostly. 9s are kinda rare out there. So not something you gotta worry about anyways
So if you do want to approach. Just know regardless, its A TONNE of rejection. But its a great experience to knock out some anxiety at the earlier stages. Itll be an advantage for when you want to get serious with this stuff

By style i had meant like hairstyle.
I fix up my hair every couple 2-3 weeks, sometimes I clean shave or fix up my facial hair
Just know regardless, its A TONNE of rejection.
Yeah I know, I've already received that TONNE of rejection.
Itll be an advantage for when you want to get serious with this stuff
I don't know what this means, but this is something I've been "serious" about for years now. I don't plan on wasting away my remaining youth without a partner and celibate just ticking off boxes for a potential partner.
All my friends have at least had someone in the past or have someone right now, yet I'm the only one with ZERO experience.
And I don't plan on starting at a later age as a late bloomer into my 30s like you suggest.

Go to places where women go to meet men.
[–]humbledrumble 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
they want to just live their life as usual without having to worry about some random hitting on her
Sounds like these women you're talking to aren't interested in a relationship or sex. So these are exactly the type of women you who you don't need to worry about their opinions -- they are the women who you aren't looking for.
Ignore their rejections and find the women who are open to relationship/sex and who will be excited you've approach them

Women have to deal with men all the time. Men hit on them on online, total strangers, sending them a personal message. They get hit on while they are working, from coworkers & customers. They get hit on while they are walking. Girls that may not be conventionally attractive, also get hit on, fat girls, quirky girls, etc, but in those cases, men get even angrier when they say no, because men feel like they aren't hot enough to say no. Women get cat called & hit on as they walk down the street. They get hit on by the neighbor. This is often called the male gaze, & if you listen to women, read what they share online, you'll discover that women often realize the male gaze exists, that they are being sexualized at alarmingly young ages, anywhere from 5 & up. Women these days talk about it openly, they write articles, blogs & books. Women that are older start sharing their experiences for younger women. One woman online will post an experience & then all of the women that see that post, will add their experiences.
They don't want to be approached for romance in every space they are in. It feel aggressive, pushy, arrogant, & scary. There are spaces for romance, where women step into, knowing that's what that space is for, like a dating site. They know that's what happens there. Some places, like a bar or club, can be a space to approach a woman, as long as you back off if they say no, in any terms. Men rant about how awful women are, but the majority of women often feel really guilty telling even a stranger no thanks. And men take advantage of that all the time. Use those spaces, be nice, leave them alone if you're not sure.

Don’t you have any male friends to ask? Women are the worst to ask about women.
Almost everything you wrote is not true. Girls dont get hit on dozens of times running errands. Guys will just stare and stay silent. Dont know who is telling you different but its not true
Lastly, a lot of girls aren't interested in what youre selling. Nor looking. So its gonna be mostly blow outs. The few ones that like it & enjoy it are gonna be the ones that exchange

I think the balance between hot girls and hot girls getting hit on is most guys want a reaction or something from the girl ie: her number or sex.
I haven’t grown up with many “hot chicks” and still get a little anxious around them. Besides not wanting anything in return, I always hear that the best way to go about interacting with them is either going for it and treating em like your sister, or don’t even approach/ talk to em at all. Just keep it light and cool and see what happens ie: high hopes but no to less expectations
