Whether the excuse is real or not it's still kind of a shit test. Also presumptuous, assuming you ain't got shit better to do then wait around for her.

Don't hit her up again until after the weekend, to ask how it went. Here's where being actually curious pays off. Not just focused on getting back with her. Still keep this conversation fairly short and don't get all nicey nice about it. Just cool, sounds like a good time, maybe one or two questions. That's it.

If she hits you up to hang on the weekend you're busy. You can leave it at that or at least delay her timing. As in you say "what time are you thinking?" Then you're busy doing x thing with some friends but an hour or two after she suggests could work.

I think she's probably genuinely busy. I would take it at face value, if everything went as you say it did. I wouldn't hit her up about this weekend again, but either wait til she contacts you again, or message her after the weekend about meeting up again.

It's fine she's just busy. Let it sit for a few days. If she's suddenly free and so are you, go on ahead. If make you plans elsewhere, just ask her out again on monday or tues after catching up a bit.
