Getting into hobbies and building a social circle is a good start.
I cringe a little when you say “I want to find a girlfriend” those are the men who struggle. The guys who just get out and enjoy themselves are generally more successful.
Another 🚩 you said “I hate making people feel uncomfortable”
Why are you assuming they won’t enjoy your company or be happy to meet you. Investing in therapy and counseling might be a good start
Most women don’t mind being hit on even if they aren’t interested. They find it flattering. They are only bothered generally if you are creepy about it.

You can't be a pussy and get pussy.
Be a man and go after what you want.
Regret is worse than rejection.

This reminds me of the time I traveled to Dallas / fw and just drove around Texas. Beautiful state. Anyways, I remember running into a grocery store late at night in a small town and saw the checkout clerk girl give me a double take, so I walked over and called her out for it.
I got her number and her interest was really high, we were texting for a while but I got busy and didn’t ask to meet up ever.
It can be really easy, just have to not have fear.
