Go out, approach, and don't worry about rejection. When woman a gives you a YES or a NO...it is great. Why is a NO good? Because it doesn't waste your time...like a MAYBE can. So, if she isn't appropriate for you for any reason...she is doing you a favor by not wasting your time...she is getting out of your way so you can approach other women until you find the right one(s).

Use meetup.com to find other "nerds." There are lots of interesting AND hot women out there. You can definitely bring up the music at some point in the conversation and use that to your advantage. I also play a variety of instruments in the progressive metal realm, but I also learned some John Mayer and things which doesn't hurt with women either. It's very easy to meet interesting women this way. Use the world to funnel your dream girl to you.
