Hey man, really enjoyed the video and thanks the chance to ask questions! - Could you possibly clarify exactly what you meant by "secret thoughts in your mind that make you interpret physiological states as certain emotions", perhaps using an example or two?

So this kind of blew my mind because I just posted this and I feel like it could be similar. Would you mind answering it either here or on my thread?

Interesting problem - I can see how losing your excitement about approaching would also cause you to lose your anxiety.
I think you kind of know the answer to your problem - cutting down on fake sources of stimulation (like porn) and video games and stuff will probably help out. Booze, bad food, antidepressants can all cause the problem you're experiencing too.

More evidence!
"Arousal is associated with anxiety... People who suffer from anxiety disorders tend to have abnormal and amplified perceptions of arousal. The distorted perceptions of arousal then create fear and distorted perceptions of the self. For example, a person may believe that he or she will get sick from being so nervous about taking an exam. The fear of the arousal of nervousness and how people will perceive this arousal will then contribute to levels of anxiety."

I knew this study but holy shit, I NEVER made the connection between AA and misattribution of arousal. Just knowing this is a huge tool for reframing AA.
Chris you got a book or something?

Can you please explain the whole idea in simple english, I'm not a native speaker and I have problem to understand your wikipedia link and OP's video.
Some guys did an experiment that showed people don't know the source of their emotions. We semi-consciously attribute them to the wrong source (we know we're doing it, but it's more or less automatic).

Maybe the girl in the parking lot was just more attractive?
IIRC it was the same girl. Unlikely that such a study would make it into the public conscious if the most obvious factors weren't controlled.

Just wanted to say thank you. This is extremely helpful and knowing why such emotions occur is a great first step to conquering that anxiety and fear. I will keep this video in mind next time I see a pretty girl.
