I personally don't talk to anyone at the gym unless I run into a friend. The gym is my sanctuary. No distractions, just me, my music, and the weights.

Don't game at the gym unless there is an organic moment to do so. People are there to sweat, and get fit. Don't fuck with their "me" time. Walking in the door, walking out the before or after the class. Never during or between sets.

Gotten 2 numbers so far. It is a bit awkward so you need to play it cool. I think indirect opener would be the better approach since you don't want to scare the cat. If she is a regular then play it cool and befriend her first. If she isn't very active then go for the date/number. (cold approach). I am still kind of new to gym game , but I am actively working on it whenever I see a cute girl.

Nope. The gym is where I go to workout. I like to look at the fit women in the gym but no gaming. I'll talk and not be a douche but I have the rest of the world to meet women in. My gym is time just for me.

I have success everywhere, location has nothing to do with it.

Follow the steps Mystery Method teaches:

Don't give away your body language, approach by passing them by and talking over the shoulder.
Make sure you're seen talking to the room not just her (girls are always watching). I always make friends with all the staff.
Open with something out of left field, "Did you see that lady on the treadmill, she was running so fast her tit popped out!"
Limit your conversation: Let her know you're only there to talk for a minute.
Neg her
Go to the gym with your wingman or use someone at the gym as a wingman wingwoman because going solo sometimes is bad.
Make sure your energy level is slightly above theirs, not to high of you'll seem feminine.
Warm up! Make 3 approaches before you approach your target.
Don't stare at woman longer than 3 seconds. 3 second look and go! (Use mirrors as this will throw off women's built-in stalker radar)
Find out her situation: "Did you just get here gym rat?"
If they're with someone make the other person the conversation target. When the actual target speaks up to be included in your short story say "Hey wait your turn!".
Leave after 5 minutes no matter what and come back based on the info you go in step 10.
When you come back get her number using "Your numbers 212 what?" this works 99% of the time if you did steps 1-12 correctly, if you didn't just keep practicing.
Kino escalation, touch this person and say "Let's see how strong you are Hercules, 1, 2, 3, 4 I declare a thumb war!" Do some fake palm reading or get creative!

I do approaches in the gym. No big deal.

I usually talk to girls that do a gym course together with me. There, I start with a simple "hello". My problem with this strategy is that during the course, there is no way to talk to them and after the course, everybody is on his way to the showers. At this point, I find it kind of hard to get an instant date or a phone number.

But anyway, just do it.
