I hear you on that, bro. I'm 5'8" (not in 5'5" territory, but I've gotten similar reactions before). It honestly depends on the girl: I've met girls who mind short heights and only want to date super tall guys, and I've met girls who don't care.

Honestly, it sounds cliche as fuck, but if you just own your shit and have mad confidence, many girls will look past it. My game is nowhere near perfect, but I work out, eat right, make an attempt to dress well, and try to be open, fun, and friendly. I've had girls come up to me exaggerating about how tall I was (even though there were many other guys taller than me around), and hot ass girls on my arm that were my height or taller.

The ones who dismiss you for your height aren't worth it. Own your shit man. Miguel is 1 inch taller than you, but do you really think this dude has a shortage of girls trying to come for him? (That may be partially because he is rich and famous, but homeboy oozes sex appeal, confidence, and swag).

However there is that odd time when I am reminded that yes, I am short, and maybe that is the reason some people just completely look past me.

For sure it is sometimes the case, but you should not give a shit, those people show their true self, which is extremely helpful to you to assess if they are even worth one second of your time.

Sometimes they'll interrupt me when I'm speaking.

I get that sometimes also, so let them just have their little petty ego trip and realize they need to feed their little weak egos by putting other people down. You should simply not care, and after they are done speaking, destroy them with your superior communications skills.

Sometimes they'll think of me as a child. I'm 22 and I am not a child, but more and more it seems like I have a problem that I can't do anything about.

Don't worry, people are quick with judgment, and in all honesty, i always think of people being children, since they behave like that. They are loud like children, they try to show off like children, they try to boost their egos at the expense of others like children, and they are emotional uncontrolled like children. If i wouldn't think like that, i'd be taking every single stupid thing they do to me, personal and surely die of a heart attack sooner or later. This way i know: "they are children, i can't be mad at children for not knowing any better."

A recent example: I met this girl on tinder. She is so cute and just so smart. We hit it off and texted frequently for a week, before we went out for our first date (I'm away for school and went back home for the weekend, where she is also from).

I felt a connection over text. Our date was amazing; I felt the connection growing. After the date she removes me from Facebook and just stops responding to my texts. What? I thought the date went great.

This happens so often, to people who are tall as well.

Maybe it's because she didn't know how short I really was. How do I look past this?

Sure, it might be your height, but it also might have been your choice of perfume, your clothing style, your shoes (yeah women love shoes, who knew...) it could be that her hamster just died and on the deathbed told her she should never date again... who cares. She weeded herself out as not compatible to you, so be thankful for her not wasting anymore of your precious time, and keep your mind open for the real compatible women. Whenever a girl rejects me, i thank her. Because i would only waste my time in pursuing her.

All in all you can never know why a particular person doesn't like you, and it doesn't matter as long as it is not the majority of people. Just be thankful for them not wasting your time and move on to find the really valuable people.

I don't think you should attribute her rejection to your height. That's just your insecurities seeping through. You don't know that was the reason. Yet because you feel insecure about your height, you assumed that it was.

Being taller does confer advantages, just like being handsome does. However if I've learned anything in my experiences, it's that women are far more likely to look past physical looks than men.

Sure, some women use it as a basis to reject a man. Just like if a woman is fat and ugly, we use that as a basis to reject a woman. It's no different.

But for women, a big source of attraction has always been a man's behaviour. If you own up to your height and try your best not to let it bother you, that confidence will be attractive to women more than not.

I have a story that i feel like is relevant here:

I good buddy recently went out with a female friend of mine. I met her a few hours before they met and she said to me how he was not her type and too short and how this was just gonna be a date as friends... Well their first date turned out to be 72 hours long and they are dating now. She still says that he is not her type and she prefers taller guys but that being with him just feels good and is different from what she felt before with somebody else.

What im trying to say with this story is that height as any other physical trait only matters to some extend.

What is important is that you don't use your height as an excuse as to why girls don't like you and make it easy on yourself. Yes there will be girls that straight up will not date you because you are too short, but most of the time it is a combination of things. In your case, it was probably also only a factor in why she stopped responding to you. All you can do is think about what could have been done better and then move on to the next girl. You have to look past it. No choice. You're 22, you're young. Get rejected more. Explore the world more, gain experience. F what everyone says, some of us are short, some of us are ugly some of us have speech impediments, some of us are born with diseases and stuck to wheelchairs. THAT is life. LIVE IT, but live it through your own EYES, Do not listen to people. Okay some girls dont like short guys, who gives a F, move on. Never stop meeting girls. I guarantee you theres girls out there for you. F all that and get rejected more. Rejection is reality, learn from it, grow from it. The minute you stop learning from rejection and slip back into a depression, thats when you start losing. I'm sure out of 100 girls a couple will like you even if you are short. But we always worry about this "1" girl who didnt like us. For every 100 girls that dont like you, 100 will. Hey man I'm 5' 5.75" tall so I'm right there with you AND I'm 22 so take what I'm about to tell you and internalize it and act upon it. If you do that you WILL be successful.

First, how much do you weigh? If you are <135lbs you are crippling your chances. When I first started improving my life I was only about 125 and lost many chances because I simply was not physically attractive. As shorter people, we can't pull of the skinny look. We need to be built to take up some room and show that we aren't to be messed with. You'll gain tons of confidence from this that will also transfer to attraction. To do this download the "Strong Lifts" app on your phone. There is a free version, but pay the $10 and buy it because it is very worth it trust me. The app is incredible and lays out everything so smoothly. Plus support the guy because he is about to be a part of what saves your life. Start the program immediately. It's not too hard and you only have to hit the gym 3 times a week. If you can't manage that then you have bigger problems than girls. You're also going to have to change your diet, but that all depends on where you stand now. I was super skinny so I'm still bulking. Just remember if you don't manage your diet correctly, going to the gym is pointless. aim to be about 150lbs. I'm currently 145 and trying to get to 160 so I can cut back to 155.

Next, if it's your style, buy oxfords and shoes with heels on them. I have a pair of cole haans that have about an inch, and some doc martens because they have really thick soles as well. This adds an inch to your height you'd otherwise lose with shitty vans and other flat shoes.

Moving on, Make sure you are attractive. Do this by checking your hair style. Are you with the trends of your area? Would you look better with a beard? Go get some honest feedback from some girls or gay guys. Preferably gay guys, they know there shit, lol. Tell them something like, "hey I'm seriously considering so and so appearance aspect. What do you think?" Don't just ask them what to do to look better. That's a lame as fuck question and also shows you haven't done any work yourself. Check your wardrobe and make sure your killin' it, but not overcompensating with clothes to hide your insecurities.

ALRIGHT. Now you've started gaining some muscle, bought some new clothes, rockin' a clean cut, and you're feeling good. Here comes the hardest part (for me at least). You need to become active in your community/college/wherever the fuck. For me, I became the president of the swing dance club at my school. This gives me HUGE social proof there so when I approach any girl there I already internally know I'm the shit because I'm the reason everyone is here right now. Without me this fucking awesome thing wouldn't be happening. Find your thing that you're interested in and go out and try it. I'm about to go check out the outdoor club thing with my school to go caving. That sounds fun as fuck. Go out and do those things and as you do it, hit on some girls (not to many just yet) and talk up the guys. Get some facebook's, some numbers from guys and girls, and take the initiative to invite them to do something fun. They aren't going to hit you up to have a bro night. You need to do it.

Suddenly you'll realize that, holy shit, people actually like hanging out with you! It'll be awesome and fun. No, you don't need to become the super popular guy everyone knows, and don't try to fake it, lol. Just be human like everyone else is trying to be.

At this point, you should naturally be seeing more results with women, but you should also start being direct with the ones you talk to that you're interested in. You should have the confidence at this point to pull that off pretty easy. I ask girls all the time for their numbers, and they almost always give them to me, but if they don't, or if they don't seem interested, I don't take it to heart. In fact, I hardly think about it for more than a second before I forget about it and that person just because another awesome person I know as a friend. Showing attraction to another person doesn't mean things change in life between the two. It's simply you showing that that person gave you a spark, and if she wants to fuel it, awesome. If not, it doesn't matter because you live such an awesome life filled with abundance that the outcome between you and her doesn't matter. You're simply giving her the chance to experience what it is to be a part of Isunova's life.

I'm running out of time, but be sure to find some passions as well. Things to focus your energy on and things that can get brought up on the low by your buds. "Yeah, that's Isunova, the dude is fucking insane at parkour."

Just know that height is not the reason you aren't getting the girls you want. P.S. When a girl asks your height (which they will, all the time), tell them straight up in a nonchalant dgaf manner, "like 5'5" ". Don't try and joke about it or flip the question on her or anything. If you say anything that isn't just a straight answer and move on, she will pick up on the insecurity. Trust me, I just learned that with the last girl I had over. Took me two years to figure that one out.

Height does affect a lot and it makes it worse when you have the face of a 17year old (young and with minimal facial hair, like bare minimum people)

Surgery is an option Edit- Don't fucking downvote me. Surgery is a viable option. I'd get it if i was 5'5". I'd also wear pumps. For some reason, social convention states we're supposed to do everything we can in our power to maximize our value: from lifting, to having good hobbies, having a high paying job. But never get surgery - you're supposed to be confident about your height.
