(TLDR) Approached girl at fair. Got rejected and feel indifferent about it. Kinda fucked up a few things, but it's a part of the learning curve.
I went the local fair with a few of the boys. We were just chilling and this girl walks up to one of my friends and asks for his snap. My friend is like really shy about this stuff but he went through with it. I thought it was pretty cool that the girl went up to a group if dudes and did that. I wasn't like super jealous of my friend or anything as I was legit happy for the guy.
So after seeing this and the large amount of girls at the fair I was like "Why not make my own luck?" Most of them were in groups of like 4+,and I'm really not that comfortable approaching groups yet. I eventually settle on this pair of girls and just go direct approach on the hotter of the two. I haven't approached in a long time so I was slightly nervous but nothing that was too noticeable I feel. I go with the timeless "Hi I thought you were cute etc".
Right off the bat I can tell she got really reserved. I asked for her name and gave her mine. I had to ask her three times as she had a pretty odd name and she was super quiet in a loud fair. We shake hands, (She was nice enough to wipe off her greasy hand with a napkin) and then I ask if her name is of greek origin. (iirc this was a cold read I think) She hits me with a pretty nervous no.
At this point I realize I got nothing more to say, and going for the number close would just be a last ditch effort that would make it more awkward for the both of them. I cut my losses and say it was nice meeting you. As someone who approaches like hardly ever I obviously made some mistakes. The big one imo is me acting like her friend wasn't there at all. Like I kinda feel bad talking to her more attractive friend and completely ignoring her.
Right before I moved on I was considering getting the friend to say something. However, as I mentioned above I kinda burned that bridge early on. (Random tangents incoming). Not too sure how my body language was as after saying hi I felt little nerves, so I'm guessing it was fine. I could've talked a bit louder but she was able to hear all of my questions. I think I did a good job being aware of her reactions and body language. I fear some other newbies might have kept trying to make something happen when it seemed to be going nowhere.
Everyone talks about how after doing an approach and getting rejected they feel awesome or feel terrible about it. I really didn't feel anything. Like I went in with zero expectations, and I'm not pissed at myself for failing. Yeah I'm like "ohh cool I didn't bitch out", but I don't feel really awesome about it. Overall I'm pretty indifferent to it.
Anyways thanks for reading dudes. If you got any questions or advice feel free to comment something. Hopefully I provided enough to start some discussion
