So today I was talking to a female friend of mine, and we had a usual conversation, few jokes mixed in. However out of the blue she asked me if I like her since she said it seems like I kinda did. (I did before talking to her as I saw her around campus a few times before approaching her. However I thought she was better as friend material after talking to her, plus she's the only girl that I know that affects my social circle.)

I just told her that I am kinda seeing someone (partially true), and I only see her as a friend. Was that good enough as holding my frame? It was pretty predictable that she was going to friendzone me, but we've known each other for 2 months now and after initially meeting her after the first two weeks, where we were flirty, it died down a bit and I in my mind I friendzoned her and thought nothing of it. I still want to be friends with her since she's a good person, but am wondering if this awkwardness that I might have been giving off is a fixable issue?

The problem is that could it be my behaviour around her and essentially most women I'm semi attracted to around my age is naturally flirty, with help from this sub. Is having intense eye contact, slowing down words, and light kino (hugs after we separate our ways most times), too flirty for this?

So am I being too flirty?
