Well here's the thing, I travel a lot and whenever I travel I go on Bumble. Sometimes when I get home I still get matches from the place I just went to and I've gotten to the point a few times with those girls where I'd receive nudes and/or have phone/video call sex with these girls but unless I'm going to travel back to the city they're in some time soon then its almost inevitable that I will get bored and just ghost them.
I mean, a long distance relationship is hard to maintain, how much more just along distance courtship or just long distance flirting?
My advice to you is just to be nice with him. Catch up from time to time, maybe even get flirty during those times but don't make any real moves until you two are in the same city because its very hard to make any sort of sexual/romantic relationship happen just via messaging/the internet.

Don't worry about it. You can even have a regular interval of once every two weeks. Just make sure whenever you do its a positive interaction. My friend was once told by someone, "Whenever you call I get really excited because I know its always going to be something good." and my friend actively tries to only contact you when he knows it will be a positive interaction.
