Does the structure in texting change when you get older?

When I was younger in freshman year of college, I could say whatever I want and it would be easy to pull girls. I took a break from that and started to approach girls my age or older and realize it’s harder to seduce them over text. Is there a structural problem I’m missing or what? This also goes for not so mature girls my age too
