I find it really hard to diagnose myself with qualities like neediness and lack of confidence. I know I had them to a large extent in the past but now I feel like it's mostly gone. I had a pretty hard breakup after a 2 year abusive relationship back in January and last week I decided to get back out there.

I tried Tinder for the first time and I've been juggling a few girls on Snapchat and theres at least one I want to meet up with. I know at the moment she's literally just some random Tinder girl but when I message her I end up thinking about things as if I were guaranteed to date her in the future which obviously may not be the case. For example we were talking about families and stuff and I was thinking about whether or not her dad would like me... completely irrelevant at the moment but it was still in my head.

Does this sound like neediness? If so what can I do to get rid of it before I see her? I already expressed interest in meeting with her but I am really busy this week and I told her I was gonna ask her to meet up some time next week so I figure once I get my work out of the way I'll hit her up with some concrete plans and until then just talk a bit more on snapchat. Like I mentioned, I'm coming out of a 2+ year hiatus of talking to girls and this (now-ex) girlfriend was the first time I ever manned up and asked a girl out and made plans etc.

Any reccomendations on seddit posts or other articles I should try to read before meeting this girl? General tips would also be appreciated. I'm trying to not think of this as "i have to get this girl to like me and i have to be funny and like-able" and i'm trying to frame it like "I am going to meet this girl to see if I like her and if were compatible". I have read Models by Mark Manson as well as a few chapters of no more mr. nice guy and the way of the superior man. I lurk this subreddit and occasionally comment and post. I only recently decided to man up and put myself back out there so I'm just looking for advice. Thanks.
