You don't build much of an emotional rapport through texting as you do in person. I'm terrible at texting as well, I've gone more than a day without replying. I always let them know, tho, and suggest we instead have a quick phone call to set up our date. From what I've experienced, girls respond positively to that. Besides, texting is hella boring. I'd much rather flirt in person, or through a phone call at least.
