All right, so here's the scenario:

You've jumped the first hurdle, overcame your anxiety, gone up to a beautiful girl, opened up conversation, and have been talking to her for about 10 minutes.

You're attempting to escalate through touching, gotten to the point where the hand is resting on the small of her back as you talk, she's not shaking it off, but not feeling real sparks click either. Perhaps this is a sign that you're just not escalating properly, and that's worth a discussion in itself.

So, here's your options:

A) You stay and continue conversation, as it gets increasingly dull. I personally find this is generally unproductive, but I'm curious if others have pulled it back form here.

B) You eject yourself from the conversation. Now, if you do this, how do you do it politely and tactfully, leaving yourself the opportunity to return to this target? Or, for that matter, is it even worth returning to the target and you should just write this one off?

C) Force isolation. What's your pretense? Ask for air? Some place where you can talk without shouting?

What examples do you folks use?
