I think the only thing looking away while shes talking does is showing blatant misunderstanding of basic human interaction. I also doubt it works when the girl isnt desperately interested in you.

Comparing that move to cat string theory is like comparing a plain insult to playful negging. One thing works, the other just makes you an asshole.

Not every tactic works with every woman. The cat string approach might work, but if a girl literally has her choice of dozens of guys, your indifference is liable not to mean a damn thing.

Strong eye contact is a good way to get her attention I agree, but using it too much with CST could come off as creepy. You end up being the guy in the corner staring at her, and rarely are men as charmingly mysterious as they think they appear.

Your best bet is to experiment. I would advise you don't spend too much time staring without making a move though. The creepy line is a lot closer than most guys think.

Cat string theory is generally more effective on women who are leaning towards uninterested or in a bigger group setting. Eye contact is king in one on one interaction and if they are neutral or attracted.

You can use both. Use solid eye contact when you are having conversation or are about to.

Use cat-string theory in between or when you are making her seek your attention.

Cat-string theory is a stupid theory because it was written to sound like it applies to all, or at least most of girls, which is completely not true. It can work in some cases such as a girl who is interested but for whatever reason doesn't show it (insecurity?!) but like 99% of the time it is completely unnecessary and the last 0,9% of the time you don't have to use it anyway to accomplish anything.

A much more applicable, useful concept in the same category is the simple rule of thumb to not invest too much in her when she's not investing in you. I think CST was originally targeted at dudes who went up to strangers and instantly went: "Hey, let me buy you a drink because you're so beautiful, oh and by the way, let's have sex and get married. I already know all your favorite positions because I've been stalking you for 6 months, too."

Sometimes, however, if you feel the girl is one of those girls you can do it with, it's fun to "push" each other a little bit sometimes. Have little, light play-fights. But only if you're like dying from laughter 90% of the time.

Strong eye-contact, however, is literally one of the sexiest things ever if you use it correctly. Not too much in the beginning and remember to keep a relaxed face or use something I like to call Hollywood faces, basically mimicking the expressions of typical "hot" Hollywood type guys. You can learn how to by watching movies and then practicing in the mirror. Basically this is something all Hollywood "alpha-male" actors (Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio) learn as they learn how to deal with the public. At least I think so, haha. Nonetheless, it should work. I don't know. It does for me. I've never heard many guys use it. But a lot of guys in this community learn body language, so why not include facial expressions in that? Movies are a good place to see all those things - using your body, face and voice in sexy ways - in action. Not saying you should steal anyones style, remember to still be yourself, but it's a good starting point for learning what others do and try and combine it with the theory about why it works, then see if it works for you, too.

TL;DR: CST is dumb, strong eye-contact and good body language is sexy as fuuuuuck.

Bonus thing: There is a thing I like to call the "Hollywood eyes", which is something actors and models do where they put slight pressure on their lower eyelids. Google any male actor and I'm sure you'll see what I mean. It's also funny to notice how young Brad Pitt didn't learn it from the beginning. In many of his older pictures he doesn't do it, while he does it in most of his more recent ones.

But anyway, I told my last girlfriend about this and what it is. I showed her how it looks when I do it and then showed her pictures of stars doing it. Ever since that she has noticed it every time and she thinks it looks incredibly dumb, however she can't help but find it sexy. Sometimes, we just gotta say fuck logic, haha.
