This wasn't quite a direct approach as in 'hi you're cute'. But it's a start.

I got to the train station after work late at night about a week ago, and the train was delayed. Great. There were quite a lot of people waiting as the previous one hadn't turned up either.

I was waiting on the platform near this cute indian girl, but didn't really think of talking to her. Most foreigners here have terrible english and it's just that much harder to actually talk about anything. There were some older guys there too, one of whom started talking to me, and I quickly realised I was in for a treat. It started off normal, like him telling me how he was late to a DJ gig. Whatever, I don't know why I'm being told this, but I humour him and try to get into the conversation. But then it devolves into him telling me about fixing his friend's PC and finding all these porn trojans. He's clearly not 100% right in the head. Luckily someone else grabs his attention briefly, and I figure I've got to do something or I could be stuck again if he decides to tell me something else.

So I just say fuck it, and go over to the cute indian girl.

'Hey, have you been waiting long?' 'About 20 minutes..'

She turned out to be much cuter once she started talking / smiling, and the eye contact was epic. I could tell from the start she was attracted. Her english wasnt great, but in the 5 mins there and the 7min train ride, we got talking about jobs, what she was studying, and by the end she was asking me if I was single. Then, 'I don't believe that!'.

When we were 1 stop away from my station, I just said 'this is my stop coming up, you should give me your number'. Easy as that. She was kind of startled by me asking, not creeped out but maybe I was very forward compared to what she's used to. I'd actually seen an indian guy try to pick her up before I talked to her at the station and he was far more 'beta' about it and nice guying his way around, while I felt like I actually just went up and TALKED rather than timidly sidling up.

She made sure to get mine right in her phone and spell my name right.

We had arranged by SMS to meet up tomorrow night. Then today I was shopping near where she works, and by chance ran into her. I'm not quite sure what this part was about but she started by saying 'I need to reschedule'. I told her I was working late 6 nights in the coming week so I wouldn't really be able to see her any other time soon. She quickly changed her mind back to being available. So we're still on for a drink tomorrow night.

Logistics are quite bad for any sort of bedroom fun, and she is very busy all the time with work and a PHD, but no harm in seeing what happens.
