So yesterday i (m28) had a date through 'breeze' ( the app where you cant chat and just get drinks straight away if you match). Cute girl, very fit, interesting job and it showed that she was looking for something 'casual/fwb' which i am also looking for.

We go for drinks and talk relatively easily for like 2h about our jobs (her: military lawyer; mine: doctor) and that we like to excersize etc. Relatively normal small talk (although quite shallow looking back on it.) I was able to touch her arm in the right context etc (I guess little escalation although it didnt really feel 'sexual'). Not the worst date in the world, but there wasnt real chemistry either. Ended up not exchanging numbers which I guess im not that mad about (although wouldnt have minded 1 more date to see if fwb was on the table).

Now my question. Although im m28 im still quite inexperienced cause of personal/mental health things which im working on atm and didnt really start hitting the dating apps until like 6month ago (and luckily getting some matches since i havent really approached IRL yet)

- Are there good/bad conversation topics? My goal is always to atleast have a 'flowing' conversation which this time happened to be about work mostly. Is this bad? Or alright for a first date? (it really isnt a 'sexy' topic but im not the best at talking about nothing or going straight for sexual innuendo's')

- Is there a fix for not feeling the vibe/chemistry? I know you most often either vibe or you dont, but i also think that somethings can 'grow' and in casual dating its less important than if ur actively looking for long term life partner.

So basically: getting dates is besides looking good/fun also bit of a numbers game, but does the same go for chemistry/vibe on first dates? Or are there tips to try and fix it while ur not yet feeling it 100%?
