Societies are good, you get to meet people with similar interests and socialise with them regularly.

Join a student organization. I recommend the swing dancing club at your school. You meet lots of people. You have to practice everything: approaching girls (asking them to dance), dancing, eye contact (can't stare at the floor for example), the list goes on. It's paid off for me, for sure.

Find a hot girl in one of your classes. Pretend like you know the course inside and out. Start a study group of people in that class. You might get a few crazys but they will keep the group in check.

If all else fails, go back to your dorm and watch some TV, I recommend Community!

Fraternity. You host parties with hundreds of girls every weekend. I know this will get downvoted, but if you're looking for a social group then you should probably join a social organization. Yes there is drinking, yes there is hazing, yes there are assholes. But the hazing makes you stronger and more interesting, the letters make you hold your head up high, the copious amounts of free alcohol draws in A LOT of girls and the assholes make you better at dealing with assholes in the rest of your life.

Other than that just get out and join a few clubs that interest you, nothing says we should go back to my place like something important to both of you in common and a little game. '
