Hey Seddit. So I've just gone and walked around for about two hours trying to make some sort of progress. Ultimately I did not even exchange words. Not even once. I don't feel at all like a failure.

About me: I'm neither an introvert or an extrovert, I think there is one in between Ambivert. I enjoy being alone a lot to consider my own thoughts in privacy, but under some conditions (often conditions I seek after I get everything I want from being alone) I will excel and Show attributes of an extrovert.

So I was walking around campus and it is unlikely I am going to close with a girl. I make realistic goals. I had a goal to say hello to three girls. Just walk past, make eye contact, and have a warm "Hello". Just let them know that I exist. If you don't get your name on the board you can't win. Baby steps.

I was walking around for some time wanting a perfect circumstance to arise. I know it is hard to come by, but I still had at least 5 decent oppurtunities that in that very moment my brain would just say do not do it. My voice wont come out. I'm not even shy.

If I am so much as introduced to someone, I can get the ball rolling. But thing is, I most often am not with other friends. Naturally I feel comfortable at university. We both go to the same place, it makes a good foundation. I wish I could get the ball rolling without any friends, But I just can't! In the past I have asked directions from people for places I already know, Just for the sake of words being exchange, just for the sake that I existed and was a person for at least 30 seconds. A starting point.

I so much as see a girl and my brain selects failure. Is she with a friend? Too difficult. Has she got sunglasses on? too hard, I can't make EC. Is she on her phone or listening to headphones? Too much committment. I so much as make eye contact and don't say hello and I find myself all hung up on it thinking, What if I try get into a circumstance where I can have another shot? But seddit has taught me the dangers of one-itis, not to get too hung up on one girl. And it felt good my new learnt discipline kicked in and I saved myself being all concerned about something that is not going to materialise. Thanks for that guys. I felt myself becoming attached but logic over-rided and forced my mind set to switch to abundance mode.

When I was walking around trying to get a score on the board, just a simple hello, I realised something: I want to be a pick-up artist! That is what I want to do! I don't play sport (I go to the gym, I am healthy though), I don't have much in the way of hobbies. A lot of extra-curricular activities have some overlap with everyday life. PUA skills are in every day life! They require confidence and free-thinking, these skilla are so transferable. Why not apply myself to this?

So I am walking around and just fantasising about simple, non threatening situations to get in and then accel in. I think my problem is in the fact that these situation just don't arise. No girl is going to look interested and walk past when no one is in ear shot. I guess my initial conditions I'm after just wont exist, they are too precise. But all I am after is a starting point and I can't even hit a simple target of three hellos. It doesn't get much harder.

I find myself just thinking when I am a master I will be able to do all sorts of cray stuff- approaching groups and just giving out my number and not giving a fuck about what they think. Getting texts from girls you can't even remember. I am not overly shy. I'm pretty confident. I want to give this a good crack. But I cant get past square one no matter how hard I try.

Thoughts and suggestions?
