Went to my usual dive tonight, which can have unusual results (got a #-close last night from a girl I'd never met there before). It's usually a sausage fest, so I try to approach women that I haven't seen there before or whom I hadn't talked to before, which can result in interesting outcomes.

Tonight, there was a group of women that I had never really interacted with before. One girl in particular noticed me as soon as I walked in, and I noticed her, and it seemed that we had met before but I couldn't remember where. I walked up to the bar near them to get a beer, and she leaned in to me and asked, "Aren't you a photographer?" I am, and I do a lot of local events, so I said that I was, and that started a line of discussion, but I couldn't remember if I should know this girl from somewhere or not, so I played it easy.

Over the course of the night, though, she continued to show IOIs and we joked back and forth about several things including her hair (she had feathers tied in, and we joked about that a little bit) and whether I should incorporate feathers into my look (she said that I would look badass with a feather fu manchu, and I laughed about that).

Toward the end of the night I was talking with her and trying to at least #-close with her, and I asked her name. She gave it to me and said that we were actually already Facebook friends, and I said that I definitely didn't have any Facebook friends by that name, and she informed me that she used a fake name. That poked my memory a little bit, and I said "Oh, okay... I want to say that your name is [name]," and sure enough, that was the name she used. Probably scored a couple of points there, but when I said "Oh, that's cool... can I give you a call sometime?" she came out with the most direct answer to that question I've ever had:

"No."

Wow.

"Ah, cool, no problem," I said.

I was shocked, to say the least. Here this girl was giving me IOIs all night, responding to my jokes with her own, and yet when it came time to close, I got a total shutout from her.

LESSON: Sometimes, despite whatever a girl tells you or shows you, she has specific things in mind for the evening, and you are simply not one of those things.
