Hello /r/seduction,

Last night must have been one of the most annoying game experiences I've had, as I have absolutely no idea how to analyze what happened.

Here's the story: I'm at a bar, waiting to order a drink. I lock on eye contact with a cute girl [I'll call her Kara] standing with one friend [I'll call her JennaFriend]. I notice Kara make a comment to JennaFriend, and the next thing I know JennaFriend approaches me saying how Kara thought I was hot and wanted to talk blah blah. Kara gets super embarrassed, starts apologizing for the comments of her friend, says we're leaving, and kinda tries to run away.

Her friend starts laughing, eventually frustratingly, commenting things like 'why are you acting this way' etc etc to Kara and starts making a lot of convo with me, telling me how her friend really likes me shes just nervous etc. I get the inclination that I should be teasing Kara here, but her friend is so chatty trying to get to know me I end up just talking to JennaFriend for a bit making sure Kara can still hear. I was definitely hitting it off with JennaFriend at this point, but Kara seemed a bit more innocent and shy so I kinda wanted to go for her.

They eventually go sit down at a table and I don't follow. Things feel really awkward with Kara at this point, but I figured I'd try to catch her later when her friend isn't around.

About 30 minutes later (after a few awkward passbys), I run into Kara alone and start talking. She's not as embarrassed this time and seems to really want to chat. We start talking for a while and seem to hit it off. She's sticking with me, smiling a lot, asking me lots of questions, buying drinks with me, etc. After maybe 30-40 minutes of this, we go to where her friends are so she can re-introduce me.

She introduces me again to JennaFriend and also AshleyFriend, a third girl she was with (and her two best friends/roommates).

Now is when things start getting weird.

Very shortly after introducing me to her friends, Kara says 'be right back.' While she's gone, both of Kara's friends start selling her to me ('she's a really great girl' 'you guys seem like you would be great' 'she's really pretty' 'she likes you a lot' 'you should kiss her' 'don't leave'). I've never experienced this before, but it was cool to know her friends really wanted us to hook up.

The problem? Kara's taking aaages to come back. If her friends weren't there selling her to me, texting her COME BACK YOUR GUY IS HERE, telling me to dance with them until she comes back, and assuring me that she was still really interested, I would have left thinking something went wrong or it wasn't worth waiting that long for.

Anyway, so she eventually comes back to her friends saying 'she went outside and didn't know why' (she was pretty drunk at this point, I thought maybe she was puking). I chat to her again VERY briefly before going to grab a drink, and when I get back she and JennaFriend are gone. I'm tired of waiting and I don't know wtf is going on at this point, so I tell AshleyFriend I'm taking off and to have her text me if she wants to meet up again.

Me and my friend leave and visit a few other bars. We return about 30-45 minutes later, as it seemed to be the busiest and best place in the vicinity. I run into the girl again. She seems glad to see me, although makes a concerning comment about being honest and having spoken to some other guy, but that I was cooler and she'd rather talk to me. We start hitting it off for a while again. Eventually the room we're talking in closes and we go back into the room with her friends. Almost as soon as she returns to her friends, she goes from chatting happily with me to hanging out with them and almost ignoring me.

Meanwhile she starts making some sketch moves, like rubbing this random guy's hair every so often. She then starts trying to leave, presumably to the bathroom. EVERY time she tries to leave (4-5) though, JennaFriend frustratingly pulls her back towards me. JennaFriend is again telling me how she's just a mess right now, really likes me and is a great girl, etc. She goes on to tell me that Kara doesn't like being judged which is part of the reason for her acting weird and is just the kind of girl who requires a lot of effort to make things happen with.

Kara eventually claims she wants to get a drink and I go downstairs with her to the bar. While down there, she tells me 'so I just want to be fully honest with you, some other guy thinks I am with him tonight, but I think you're cooler.' WTF? Major turn off, though obviously not to be unexpected in bar/club environments. I just don't really understand why she is telling me this or if she is trying to hint at anything. I try to subtly ask her why she's telling me this, what she's really trying to say, etc, without reacting too much. She just kinda apologizes saying how she just wanted to be open and honest and that she is a mess, etc.

I really don't know how to react, I'm not happy and not really liking her as I did before at this point, but I didn't want to just throw it away yet either. After a minute or so, I make out with her to see how she reacts. She complies, but not for very long.

She tries to go back to her friends to get her purse as she'd forgotten it and couldn't get her drink. Long story short: she can't get back to her friends as the bar is closing and they weren't letting people up to where her friends were, we're not really hitting it off anymore because she's acting too weird, I figure I'll just be helpful, text her friends to come down, say goodbye to her, try to make out one more time goodbye but fail this time.

So normally, I'd probably have stopped worrying about this girl long before the story actually concluded. I felt like I was being sorta needy waiting around for her for so long and sticking with her a lot, but it was only because of what her friends were telling me. It also definitely went very well for a good amount of time at certain points.

Towards the end, there seemed to be a disconnect between what her friends were saying and how she was acting, but it was hard to read the situation. I dunno wtf was up with the other guy story, I def never saw her with any other guy but I don't think she was lying either. I also don't know why her friends would act like they did if it was really about another guy.

The only thing I can really conclude is either: 1) She really did like me the whole time, but because I'm probably a better looking guy than her as a girl (heh), she felt like she didn't deserve success with me. 2) She liked this other guy. Maybe her friends did not like him, and wanted her with me (though I kinda doubt sentence #2 holds) 3) Her friends misread the situation.

Any thoughts? Should I text her something to maybe get more info? (not interested in her now, but would just be interesting if i figured out what this was all about) Thanks guys.
