So this is just a quick FR from my Monday night.

I get some good news relating to work, so I go to my regular local sports bar for a few drinks to celebrate. End up running into the bartenders Gf who've I've chatted up casually a few times, and her friend. I start talking to the friend, find out there are going to a local bar afterwards.

I try to make the friend convince me to go, and after some back and forth including texts after i got her number, I tell her I'll see her there soon.

Before I went I changed at my apartment, and looked up how to dance on youtube, because I've never liked dancing. I found this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0q5gBK-Z8E

So with only the guidance of the video, I went, ran into the group, had a beer, and the friend and I went onto the dance floor. I barely knew the girl at all, so I had no reservations, and just tried what I saw in the video. It was fun, and the girl saw that I was having fun.

After awhile I'm not getting any IOIs, she wonders off, so after having another beer, I just go for it, I walk onto the dance floor, see two girls dancing with one another, walk nearby, make eye contact with one of them, and start dancing with her. Right in the beginning I tell her, you made eye contact with me, that means you have to dance with me for awhile. She laughs it off, and we dance for awhile.

The impression I got from her was that she recognized I was a terrible dancer, but she saw how much fun I was having, and she fed off that. After a song or two, she said she needed to sit down, her feet were killing her, but invited me to join her.

The rest of the night was me meeting her friends, kinoing her, trying to get her alone, blah blah blah. I knew what I was doing, and what to improve upon for next time. I got her number and will be texting her tomorrow to set up a thing friday.

But my overall message to those who are afraid of dancing is this: Do what you see in that video, and have fun doing it. It was so easy I'm kicking myself for taking so long, and I had zero practice before implementing it.

Also from the point I started dancing with the girl I met on the dance floor, she asked me if I was here alone, I said no my friends are here somewhere, and it was a non-issue after that. The truth is I know I'm on first name basis with the bartender and his GF, and just met the GFs friend that night. I was basically going at it solo. And it all worked out fine.

So monday I shed my fear of going solo and dancing. The future looks very positive.
