I was at the gym tonight, and decided to take a shuttle bus back to my dorm room. As I walked into the lobby to get on the bus (it hadn't arrived yet), there was a girl to my right and I immediately said, "Shuttle's not here, huh?" and that broke the ice. I introduced myself and she introduced herself, and I tried to guess her major to spark the conversation with some fun.
We then got on the shuttle bus and had a fun conversation about how The Weather Channel actually decides the "RealFeel" temperature. She laughed at some of my jokes.
She was going to a meeting for her Engineering class, and before she got off at her stop, I pulled out my phone and said, "I'll tell you what, lemme get your number and we can hang out sometime."
She chuckled a bit (this kind of worried me) and she gave me her number. Afterwards, she said, "You're bold," to which I responded, "Yup, I know." She got off at the stop and said bye to me.
It was definitely a step forward for me but I can't help but feel like she wasn't taking me seriously. I'll text her tomorrow and see how it goes. Should I be worried if a girl chuckles after I ask for her number or is that just a nervous reaction?
