Hello Seddit! I come with a relatively tame success story. I decided to finish the last of my beers off earlier today. Cue two IT majors dropping by to visit my roommate. On a whim I join them and make small talk. At this point I'm barely buzzed, but feeling very chatty. I engage the female of the pair, an HB6 - She's not one you'd look at and single out at a party, but she's cute on a second glance - after I discover she's actually single. The two IT majors are constantly together in the halls at school. I find it's mainly because she's very shy and feels comfortable with the male IT guy.

I'm about halfway through my stash and telling stories of the sort of shenanigans my old classmates and I would get up to. She's almost painfully shy, though she's responding - covering her mouth while she laughs at just about every stupid joke I make, and I caught her glancing at me a few times. She'd been blushing from the time I started chatting openly up until she left the apartment.

I kept it rather simple, keeping conversation flowing, but throwing in some simple low-key compliments and tame flirting as I didn't want to scare her off. She's also very ticklish.

After my roommate walked the pair out, he returned and informed me she prefers me to the other two guys at our school who are actively pursuing her - One is a helpless alcoholic, and the other is unhygienic and "creepy," as he put it. I thought about asking for her number before she left, but as I said - she's painfully shy, as in when I address her directly she covers her mouth and looks down - I didn't want to push it too far too fast and scare her off.

Overall it's not a great turnout, but I'm happy to be back in the saddle after getting over a breakup and I'd like to say thanks to all of you here for helping me rebuild my confidence and fine-tune my game.
