I've always checked out this sub, and I've always read all the tips and tricks you guys gave out. But when it came to actually approaching, I'd always pussy out, until yesterday. Me and a couple of friends were out in the city just messing around when we decided to go into a clothing store. I picked up shirt that I liked and went to the fitting room when I saw a very cute employee at the fitting room. The thought of approaching her was making me slightly nervous, but for some reason I was also comfortable at the same time. So I tried on the shirt, came out of the dressing room and opened up with a question , "I need a girl's opinion on this, does this shirt fit me well?" She smiled and we talked a little and I got to know her a little. Then I asked her if she was in university, and she replied she had finished. Then she asked me and I said I'm about to start my sophomore year. I thought the conversation was going well because she couldn't stop smiling and she seemed to be enjoying the conversation. However the weird part was, when I told her that I thought she was cute she kind of stopped smiling for a second and went, "Oh." However that seemed to fade away and she started to smile again as the conversation continued. My buddies wanted to leave so I said, "Hey I need to leave, but could I get your number, we should hang out sometime." She smiled and said ah that's nice but I can't because I have a boyfriend. I didn't really care and I replied back, "that's cool. Have a great day," and walked out of the dressing room all smiles. I was thrilled. Sure it was a rejection in the end, but I was so happy that I actually took the first step in trying to become better with approaching and that I had a decent conversation with her.

Also, considering this was my first approach, do you guys have any criticisms that could help me next time?
