So I posted on here yesterday after lurking for a while regarding my social anxiety/problems talking to women at all. After reading some of the advice there (it's in my post history, look it up for context) I decided today I'd try at least one cold approach to get past the initial nerves.

First opportunity came right before class when I was grabbing coffee. Ordered my drink and was sitting at the table nearby waiting for it to finish up. The girl who had been behind me (probably a 7/10, pretty cute) stood nearby waiting for hers. I wanted to start with an approach that had literally no chance of me getting burned, so I got up and asked her "Hate to bother you, but do you know where Knight Hall is? I've never had to go there before, but I've got a meeting in twenty minutes."

I made a point to smile and look relaxed (even though internally it felt like I was going to have a heart attack). She didn't seem to mind me asking and told me where it was, I said thanks and got my drink before leaving. Okay, pretty minimal but it was a start. She didn't seem irritated at all and didn't slap me across the face so I'll count it as a win.

2 came right after class when I was walking home. Saw a redhead standing at the intersection waiting for the light to walk. Pretty hard to tell what she looked like under all the winter clothes but she had a pretty cute face. Noticed she was wearing boots with heels.

Me: I've gotta say, I can't imagine trying to walk around in all this with those heels on. (there's snow/ice/slush everywhere, thanks wyoming)

Her: It just takes practice, I'm used to it by now.

Me: Well props to you, don't think I could ever do it!

The light turned green and she waved goodbye, going in the other direction from me.

So overall it wasn't bad. The second girl seemed a little more reluctant to talk, but wasn't outwardly pulling away from the conversation. It was cold as hell and she probably wanted to get home, so I won't blame her for that.

So, how'd I do? What can I try in the future for cold approaches to maybe take it a little further?
