I was coming off a bad experience from two weekends ago where I tried to slyly slide my number to a girl at a party only to be shut down in front of mutual friends. I don't really want to go into that, I just wanted you guys to know I was working with low confidence to start with, so it took a little bit to muster up the courage to get back out in the game.

So I was out at a music concert with some friends and I see this 8/10. Like I said, I was kind of nervous about approaching her because of what happened a few weeks back but I still managed to walk over near her. I didn't start talking to her immediately; I just stood near her and watched the concert. Basically I didn't pay too much attention to her at first.

I pretended to get on my cell phone and make a phone call. At the end of the phone call, I slipped in "Oh yeah, Phish is my favorite band! I've been to a few concerts of theirs already this year and besides all the kick ass music, a lot of hotties show up too." Then I followed with, "I kinda lost the group I came with" and made sure when I pretended to start looking around the venue that I made direct eye contact with HB8.

She kind of smiled a little so I knew I was in. After I hung up, I was like "You come here often?" Which I immediately knew was such a stupid thing to say because she didn't really know how to handle the question.

I recovered by saying that I worked this venue a lot (I don't) and that I could maybe get her into some concerts for free (I can't). This was enough to get her interested in me so that we could freely chat.

Before I knew it, my favorite song came on and I slung my arm around the girl, caught up in the moment. I realized what I had done after about 5 seconds and was about to apologize until I realized she had her arm around my waist. I ended up baggin HB8's number and told her we were going on a date next weekend. "You free on Friday? We're going out for drinks around 8. Wear something classy and I'll pick you up at 730"

She loved my authority. Girls really seem to like it when I become authoritative. My confidence is back like a phoenix from the ashes. I am Rocky Broboa.
