Just a quick FR about a super easy number close I got by just maintaining a non pursuing alpha frame. In the whole following interaction, I literally never left my chair at the bar.

Was chilling with 4aces with this blonde two set next to me, trying to get him (or me) to approach. Eventually the one next to me goes to the bathroom. 4aces does a good read on them that they are dressed up, down to party and probably gonna leave soon if no-one opens them.

HB: "oh no, I'm just waiting for my friend to get back to the bathroom."

what? nothing interesting in your life? tell me about these interesting people.

HB: "blah blah qualify qualify"

but really, what is the most exciting thing that happened this week.

HB: "ummm..." qualify

friend enters and motions to leave

she comes closer and puts her arm around me

well, anyway,what are you doing later? if things don't go you're way my friends and I are hanging out later and drinking/smoking etc.

HB: "oh really? you guys are hanging out? well, let me get your number. " oh and what's your name "heckz" my name is "HB" nice to meet you.

After she called me so I have her # I send a follow up text. "i'll hit you up when we are heading out -heckz"

HB: "It was so nice meeting you!"

Later I texted that we were heading out and to meet us. Then she texted saying she was across the street at another bar but I was too busy to notice the text and she called me a few minutes later. I told her to meet me where I was. ** (lesson 1, at this point I should have probably just met her and pulled home). **

She never showed and called me 20 minutes later again saying some guys were betting her $200 over a pool game and she would get back to me after winning the bet--basically telling me some dudes were bouncing them ** (lesson 2. should have just told her we were leaving right there and then and told her to come) **

Anyway. Just putting this FR down because getting #-closed then called twice really threw me off. Next time I get IOI's like that, it's closing time. Apocalypse would have worked. In some situations like this, it's really just about taking charge and pushing the interaction the way you want it.

Edit: Couple of key points:

  • plowing when ignored at first
  • projecting your voice
  • not caring that my buddy and I had been there for at least 15 minutes without opening,
  • not being needy at all
  • qualifying her like crazy
  • be more persistent and forward about pulling
