A few days ago, I went to hang out with some of my friends and met a girl. She's very hot, but I didn't pay much attention, I was just having fun with the group and I was pretty much the center of attention.

Later we go to a bar and I'm sitting next to her. At one point she asks me if I'd mind if she puts her leg on mine. I wasn't out sarging, so it took me by surprise, but of course I don't mind. She didn't wait for my response, though.

I keep up the conversation with everyone, but at the same time I'm touching her leg under the table, holding her hand, having quite an erotic time. One of the best flirts in my life, in fact. I'm a sucker for those 'secret' under the table romances. And God she's hot.

Later, everyone's going home saying goodbye, and she's given up hiding. She goes for my hand in front of everybody and is always close to me.

Everyone's gone and we go to a park together. A friend texts me that she has a boyfriend. I would usually mind that very much, but I'm tipsy and she's so very, very lovely and I've already missed so much because of boyfriends and, fuck, I deserve something like this for once. I decide I'll go for it.

We talk, we cuddle, we have an undeniably good time. Whenever we feel the kiss coming, she gets nervous and pulls away, but only a little bit, so that I know she isn't ready for the kiss. At one point she says 'she really shouldn't be doing this'. Yeah, I know. The boyfriend.

We're going home and we're about to say goodbye. Our stares are intense. I don't kiss her. I'm quite sure I could have, but at the time I've already decided that the kiss won't take part today so I don't take the chance. Dumbass.

For the next few days, I'm slowly developing a oneitis (dumbass). I know I'll get to see her soon when we go out again.

That was today. But this time, I'm more nervous. Not a lot, but I guess it doesn't take a lot. I got there first. When she came, she seated herself with her back facing me. We don't talk much, but I direct a word or two at her when I'm talking to everybody.

Later, we're going to a bar again. On the way, she's getting closer and closer to me, until she's next to me. Once again, we don't talk a lot because of my nervousness and other people's demands for my attention.

At the bar, we're seated next to each other. At one point, about 10 minutes in, I take her hand. Cold fish. Unresponsive. She doesn't remove it, though.

Trying to recreate the previous scenario, I touch her leg. A girl on the opposite side of the table says: "Exactly what are you doing downstairs right now?" Ouch. I guess I'm no ninja. I remove my hand, manage to continue the conversation without any overt awkwardness.

Later, I try some physical contact at the same table, but she's completely unresponsive. Friendly enough when I talk to her though.

Everyone's going home. She says goodbye to everyone, doesn't even look at me.

Doesn't feel good, man, doesn't feel good.

What just happened there? What lesson am I to take from this?

EDIT: Thanks for all your input. I think you're all right on all points. I know I'm not gonna be making these kinds of mistakes again. Off to practice.
