I'm not usually this bad.

So I come to you seddit for some advice on why I fucked up so bad and what I can do to avoid having my wingman ruin sets for me.

Here goes. Went out Saturday night. Started at my place with a bunch of friends. We played a few games of pool and did a few shots. I can handle alcohol pretty well so my game only gets affected 5 drinks in or so. After that I can't make a coherent statement (my ability to talk goes first). For what it's worth I'm sober most of the night. After that we headed out to a roof top party with beer pong, a grill and a pretty chill view.

One of my better friends (Mike) shows up. The roof top party is a massive sausage fest. Like 20 guys, 2 girls (both of which showed up with us). So we drink a couple beers and bounce. My state is pretty good at this point. Wasn't expecting to go out to bars but a literal sausage fest (dude grilling sausages, a party of mostly men) happened. A couple of other chicks show up (friends with my different group of people who want to bounce. There are 7 of us now leaving the party. Three chicks and 4 guys two of which are me and my wing/buddy Mike).

We hit this super hopping bar. Lots of energy, good atmosphere. My buddy wants to look around for sets to open. I head to the bar and chat up with one of the girls we came with. Got bored of her so I grab my wing (Mike) and we start opening sets.

He disappears for a second and I try to open a set of 3 chicks. Ask them if I can grab a seat at their table and chat. Instantly shut down when one of them mentions they all have boyfriends. Didn't waste my time.

Next set was a group of two girls. Both blonde and good looking. Have my wing with me at this point. Before we start he mentions he has yellow fever. He grabbed a number from a girl he was chatting with at the bar while I was getting rejected by my first set. I target one chick and he's chatting with the other girl. Some dude shows up and starts talking to the girl Mike was targeting. My target was giving me good communication and I thought I could get a close.

Then Mike pushes me out of the set. I shit you not he literally pushes me out of the set. He throws some line at me like "yo these chicks have boyfriends didn't you see that dude who showed up?"

I watched the guy who showed up and he didn't give any obvious indication of boyfriend. He didn't touch Mike's target at all when he came in. Figured he was just trying to join the convo. I could have been wrong but the girl I was chatting with gave me 0 indication that she was taken which judging by my first set comes near instant.

How the hell do you recover when your wing pushes you out of the set and bails? I feel like I should have dropped him and tried solo at this point.

Next set is a group of 3 girls. One of them is the one Mike #-closed earlier. I target one of the other chicks. Again making good connections here. Opening sets is the hardest part for me. I never have trouble #-closing. Anyway the third girl was sort of getting ignored so she kept throwing sideways shots at me. In hindsight I should have spent more time chatting with her because not giving her much attention was giving me problems with my target. Anyway some random chick shows up and mentions something to our set and they literally just dash out of the bar without saying goodbye.

Now my wing is grilling me for not #-closing. I just gave him a look like "really, dude?" I didn't have a chance. I didn't know they were going to leave so suddenly. I had maybe 5-10 minutes with that set.

Next set, table of people. I ask if we can squeeze in and chat. My wing is useless here. One girl says it's cool, and another outright says no that those spots were saved for a friend. Not going to play shitty games. Moved on.

Next my wing opens a set of two. I don't usually open sets of two unless both are attractive. My wing just opened a set where only one was and no surprise she was Asian. That left me with the other chick, white and 0/1 on the binary scale. I don't do shit like this so I figured I would bail the set after he #-closed. Well I couldn't. One of our buddies from the group we came with texted us and told us he had went off to a night club with the group and that we should go.

I'm like, sweet, perfect chance to close and bail. Then my wing invites both chicks to come to this club with us. Fucking really? At this point I'm sort of done. My wing has screwed me over twice now. I'm not going to entertain a set I'm not into. In hindsight I should have just stayed behind and worked the place solo. Probably would have done way better but like a fucking idiot I tagged along to the club. I don't do clubs well.

Long story short I got shut down by pretty much every girl there. Probably because I lost frame after leaving the bar. Mike ended up going home with the chick he invited from the bar that he was targeting. The rest of my friends had bailed and took a taxi to one of their places. I thought I would have been a fifth wheel so I went home. Turns out that wasn't the case I later found out.

Alright seddit, hit me with your thoughts and comments. How do I get my wing to be a team player? Could it have been because he was only targeting Asian chicks? I don't care either way. He's Asian and I'm white but I don't care much about skin tone. Am I just better off solo?
