Id been stopping in at this coffee shop before work for a while. Barista always seemed interested in chatting, happy to see me, although I never discerned wether this was her personality or unique to me.

I am capable of closing higher women but shes cute and genuine. Anyway, today, while on some acid after work I stopped by grabbed a coffee, chatted her up a bit (admittedly pretty platonically).

Anyway, I told her she seems cool and we should hang out, she agreed, wrote down number and then started to seem a little awkward. At this point I sensed she was either bashful or the number was fake. I took it and left and it turned out to be fake. lame.

Anyway, proud of myself regardless. It took a while of thinking about it but today I decide not to leave the shop without going for it. Feeling good rather than disappointed.

I don’t even like coffee..

When a girl gives you a fake number, don’t follow up. Shes not interested. this is their graceful way of letting you down easy, and avoiding social tension. Handle it with tact. Personally, I don’t need to go back there, but if I do I am content to act like myself and not skip a beat. I think there is another barista I thought was cuter anyway and more IOI.
