By the time I got there I was ready to steam roll. Complete opposite of the past two nights going out where I cold stone walked there with complete deadlock not even wanting to go let alone excuses. I had already listed all the excuses and declared I was going to kill them and not care - not my type, etc.

After watching / listening to this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=er416Ad3R1g I realized it is exactly the same as my ramp up to hooking up at other venues and I figured out hooking up simply doesn't happen unless you're "high". After enough experience you can make yourself high on the spot but you always need to be in some sort of high state.

When I got there (the barbary dance club) it was clear the line was long enough for 1/4 of the capacity of the whole place. I only had an hour. I thought this is pointless I won't even get in might as well leave but then I thought fuck it I'll just get my 3 sets in the line and we'll see if I get inside anyways.

Walked up to the line and two girls were sitting outside of the line and decided to just start talking to them before I started thinking. Started off joking about the line. Then asked how long they had been here. Then if it was moving fast. The one girl farther away said they were waiting for some friends and would keep looking away but the closer girl kept engaging and was clearly interested. I said probably one thing jokingly but the rest informational however I was charming and we were both smiling. The other girl eventually just got up to leave and therefor forced the other girl to leave too.

Then I got in to the line. There were 3 girls in front of me in a group. I probably could have / should have just jumped in immediately with the line chat again however I waited a moment to see what they were talking about to jump in. The one girl was talking about a haunted house and it seemed like she worked there which was cool so I wanted to talk about that however I didn't want to just interject myself adding in to their conversation as if I had already been a long time friend (ie: give my opinion as if I was the girl she was really talking to).

I waited a little bit and gave some smiles when some looked at me then eventually just asked the nearest girl about the line / how long they had been there (not sure exactly what I asked). I just focused on being charming, patient and committed to the long haul with them. (Made sure not to wait more than 90 seconds before first saying something so they didn't conclude I was creepy lingering guy)

The girl furthest I never really spoke with (the haunted house girl) however the one to my left would chum however the one to my right was seeming to be "my girl". We were platonic however when I touched her with the back of my hand to get her attention to mention something she lit up. More than once the other two girls turned their backs and me and her just chatted. Asked her if she worked at a haunted house (she worked as a waitress). Asked if she had been anywhere else before coming here (no). Asked if she knew of any other dance clubs in the city (yes? listed some). I believe they all got talking about bands / concerts they had been to recently and complained about some venues. I joked that every time I see the band lists at the venues I have to youtube them because I've never heard of any of them. Asked if she had to wake up in the morning? Got in to talking about how she takes class and then I mentioned I just got back from one. Some how I think I came off as an ass when I mentioned that I was actually first rejected but then emailed them and got them to accept instead. However this was long in the conversation now (20-30 minutes?) and she went from being charmed and in to me to looking a little stressed. I'm not 100% sure why she was stressed however I didn't really pursue anymore kino. My first impression of her was she was a little out of my league / a tiny bit too much personality to dominant easily so I didn't see myself really going for her unless we were alone, knew each other a tiny bit more or were at least inside instead of the line.

When I got inside I only had like 20-30 minutes left so I went straight to it. The music was awesome and perfectly fun, friendly hot drunk cute hook up type girls were just falling down the stairs and packed everywhere. I had to find a place for my bag and coat, then went back downstairs.

Danced straight out in to the floor and immediately looked to my left and there was a super hot girl who appeared to be just that instant'ly had her friend's back turned to her while she was leaning against the wall so I immediately just grabbed her hand and pulled her out. Her face was like whoa ok smiling super happy then I pulled her hand around my neck, put my hands on her sides and grinded with her pressed against running my hands along her back / sides. Eventually her hand slightly went down I went to grab it just to hold her hand but as I was holding her hand I didn't know what to do with it so I just put it back around my neck. With this we had danced for a little bit (2-3 minutes?) and I knew I had to say something but I didn't know what yet so I gave her a big smile and she gave the same one back.

Within probably 20 seconds I leaned in to talk in her ear however she scrambled a little because she thought I was going in for a kiss and when she scrambled my immediate reaction was to just find her ear so she got in to it however it was super clear it was "just not like that!" and that it was on her mind. Every single time I would talk to her I'd have my hand on her lower back and that was natural for us. I think I started by asking her what her costume was (she clearly had no costume on). She said "something". Then I said "oh well it's really hot". Then she took a slice back and then back and said "thanks". At this point I think we were dancing decoupled I was trying to focus on conversing.

Asked her how long she had been there, mentioned getting stuck in the line (which really didn't mean anything to her / us because I was here now). Eventually started running out of stuff to say so asked if she was there with anyone (which I would never normally ask) and if she lived in the city (which I wouldn't really ask either). She said no and no. Then she mentioned she liked the song and I wanted to joke about it being the band that sang a certain other song but I forgot the band and sat there for a moment stupidly saying nothing with her hanging then said I forget. Then eventually I said "oh is the band that sings pretty fly for a white guy" then she said no, you don't know? are you 22? then I said 28, then she said i'm 27 you have no excuse! Then I said well!! I have kind of an excuse that was a long time ago ;p I've listened to a lot of stuff since then.

At this point she was kind of dancing almost with her back to me, I was behind her shoulder but in her view. She kind of tried to start dancing with another dude but he didn't. I didn't really want to just jump in front of her however I was just running out of stuff to say. she still smiled and I had my hand on her back if I did have something to say but we were kind of not working out even though I know she wanted it to.

At this point I knew she was the girl I could make out with if I knew how to push right but nothing was coming to my mind and I also knew from experience we were kind of just not working out and that's not a big deal however it might be kind of hurtful / heart breaking for her for me to just walk away from her. Also that we probably should have worked out if I had just had the momentum from one other girl or two before meeting her.

So I did my best to try and come up with anything to do but eventually it just ticked to the point where I was about to become creepy lingering dude so I told her I'm going to go get a drink (I hadn't drank anything yet) and I'll be back and this was her first kind of not good response.

I ran upstairs I figured before I go I should talk to at least one more girl however if I just ended up dancing with some that's fine, I spoke with 3 sets... Did joke with one who dared me to bump in to her (because she was pissed others were) then I did then she got mad and put her hand (wand) up to hit me and I screeched / screamed.

I ended up jumping in the middle of 3 girls dancing and just danced and they kind of unh-unh'd out of there then saw I danced good then danced with me for a little bit. They then left again and I tried to dance with two other girls but did but they 90% mostly didn't dance with me. Then I left.
