I went to a happy hour social today where meeting and greeting people was to be expected. I went in to the bar solo and approached the first two people I saw, a cute girl and her okay-looking friend. Chatted them up, and they were soon giving me IOI's (they asked for my name). Anyway, I went for a drink, went to greet my friends, and then went back to chat with the girls. They said they were going to get a drink, but would be back. I didn't care, and told them I didn't want to drink anymore, but told them to come back so we could keep talking. I approach another mixed set (1 cute girl, 1 average girl and 1 guy), and only talk to the guy. The girls start looking at me and I eventually engage them in the conversation. I e-mail close them all. I think going for the digits might have been too obvious, or maybe I felt I didn't build enough of a connection, or maybe it was all in my head. Anyway, on my way out, I see a buddy, banter with him and his friend. I almost forgot about the other girls, but I see them hanging out at the bar. I go up to the okay-looking one, tap her on the shoulder and tell her that I had to get going, but wanted to stay in touch. She enters her e-mail address into my phone. In retrospect, I should have also gotten the e-mail address of her cute friend, but I didn't. I also shouldn't have been a pussy and should have gone for numbers instead of e-mail addresses. Oh well.
I go do my music gig, and I'm a bit tipsy from drinking a bunch of beer. I decide to hit a local favorite bar alone and plan on drinking water for the rest of the night. I go into the bar and run into an acquaintance, a cute girl with an awful attitude. She put a bump in my mood since I wasn't really expecting to see anyone I knew out tonight. Anyway, I go to the back of the bar and banter with a few guys. I see a girl alone at the bar and talk to her for a bit. She's a little too innocent for me, and I wasn't interested, so I just had polite convo with her for a while. I leave the bar, go to another, and there are literally 30 guys and 5 girls in the next bar. I am getting tired, my legs are sore from working out yesterday, and even though it's relatively early I decide to call it a night. I did do my "You guys are going to kill it!" routine to random people on the street again. I'd say it works as well as saying "Good morning!" to random people on the street during the day. Most people react positively to it, a few are confused, and even fewer completely ignore it, but none react negatively. I met a few groups of people doing this, and probably could have joined their crew out on the town, but, fuck, I'm tired, and work has been a bitch lately. I'm going to go out again tomorrow though.
TLDR: Got a couple easy e-mail closes, which probably will not amount to anything. Anyway, it was a decent night, but neither excellent nor crappy.
