From the "approach on eye contact and smile" method, how many people actually acknowledge you?

I live on a college campus, I probably pass 250 different girls a day, and very rarely does a girl look at me. I try to initiate eye contact with nearly all of them. I might get like 5 looks from 5s and below the whole day.

Really depressing.
