Living in Austin I run into sexy hipster girls all the time. They intimidated me for a while. I don't dress like them, I don't listen to the music they like. None of that seemed to matter in the end. Eventually my success rate increased and it opened a whole new subgroup of girls I could approach and close. These are some things I discovered that might be helpful to you guys, I give some examples of how they are applied.

  1. Reframing is your biggest tool. By this I mean controlling the frame of the conversation by either generalizing or narrowing the scope of the topic. With hipster girls I used mostly generalizations and expanded the scope of the conversation to some universal theme. For example if a girl mentioned some obscure movie or band I didn't know, instead of saying I didnt know the band or movie and ending the conversation there I talked about how art can affect people or how I like it when art is done with feeling. I tried my best to not talk bout specific band, movie, because that would highlight our differences and instead talk about general things we can agree on.

2.Don t change who you are. Most of the hipster girls I met value individuality and uniqueness, so embrace the quirky thinks you enjoy. To your surprise they might find a lot of them cool and interesting.

3.I had a lot of success by asking girls to a date maybe an hour or so of meeting them. I just went direct with “you are cool/ you are interesting , I want to get to know you better, I want to take you out on a date, you like picnics?” Its fun to notice girls faces after your proposition because you can almost see them thinking it through and rationalizing that a picnic is not such a big deal and that you were interesting to talk to. I like picnics because they are cheaper than dinner dates, and leave you a lot of time later to bounce back to your house to show her that song or movie you mentioned and close the deal.
