I moved back to the area where I grew up after college, got a job, my own place, etc. But I've come to realize I'm pretty miserable here? Why? Simply because I've come back to rely on my old friends from HS, and honestly, they are pretty lame.

They don't go out. And when they due, it is very underwhelming. Think of they type of people who "call it" by midnight or the type of guys who roll out in a big group of guys (no girls).

So...I decided to start going out by myself (did it for the first time last night). In some ways it was liberating, but you are facing a huge up hill battle.

It is really difficult to make new friends post college, or meet new people during the week and often on weekends (my career is very demanding).

But I'm looking for some advice on going out alone and actually picking up girls (whether that's numbers or going home with them).

What is the best way to go about it? Best types of venues to go to? Best time to go out and hit the bars/clubs?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. I've tried to hit on girls with them, and I've found some success but it is an uphill battle. Nevertheless, this only happens on the few occasions we actually go out!!
