The world is what we make of it. For me, I see the world as a place filled with opportunities. These opportunities come in the form of people. Women I can go out with and men I can learn from.

Pickup is the process of taking advantage of all the random opportunities around you. Yesterday, I went on a morning run. I saw a sexy woman running as well, so I asked her if I could keep pace with her. I ended getting her number. While the number was a dud, she did improve my running pace, and at least I got a number, which in the past has led to something, if not just a learning experience.

I don't like society's rules. I'm not talking about breaking the law, that is not acceptable. I am talking about society's limits, the ones that have helped a select few at the cost of the rest of us. Society has these unwritten rules which keep civilization in order. We go about our days on a single path, fearful about intercepting the paths of those around us.

I used to live within the bounds of society, and all I got was boredom and frustration. So I decided to rewrite the rules for myself. I do pickup everywhere I go. If I am at the library and a woman walks past me, I do pickup. I am eating a meal at a restaurant or cafeteria, I perform pickup. Walking down the street, more opportunity for pickup. It is through this that I maintain a sharp wit and a phone full of numbers.

When I go to a new city, I throw myself out there. I walk the streets, stop at random bus stops, do anything and everything I can to maximize the potential for opportunity. I respect those who have a select social group they built over time, and hang out with the same friends they have known for years. Good for them. But they are a product of their environment, bounds by its rules and limitations.

I like being able to jump into the worlds of others, immerse myself in their life path, then move on when things saturate and other opportunities present themselves.

One of the highest rated articles on /r/seduction is a Cracked.com article which gives you a reality check and says that "No one cares about you". Use this fact of life to your advantage. I go out there and I fail over and over again. But in the end, no one cares about me, no is keeping score, and the little attention they do pay to me is fleeting, as they are soon confronted with their own issues. No one cares about you, and if you embrace this fact, you can approach anyone and be willing to take the risks to create the most out of life.

I had a girlfriend while I was abroad. For four months, we spent every week together, doing every activity imaginable. I was also her first, and we did it once or twice a week. Then, when I had to leave the country, I broke it off with her. I figured we could be friends and that it was unfair to both of us to be binded to each other instead of going out there and meeting new people. She said she loved me, and I believed it. After a few months of us continuing with our lives and not talking, I emailed her to see how she was doing. She emailed me back saying she had a new boyfriend and that is was nice knowing me. All that time together amounted to just experience, we are no longer in contact because I provide no value to her.

I learned from that experience how volatile the world really is. You can spend hour with someone, even engage in intercourse with them, but the only meaning to come from it is the meaning you define in your mind.

So every day I focus on my career, and do pickup when the opportunity presents itself. The only fear I want to have is the fear of regret. I hate regretting not taking advantage of an opportunity. It ruins my day.

The great thing about doing pickup with a diverse crowd of women is that it really opens your eyes to what's out there. I've seen it all, from a woman saying she wanted a "platonic friendship", to a one night stand, to women who wanted a boyfriend so desperately that it was hard or impossible for me to mess up.

I only stay in touch with one woman, and that is the woman I felt a real connection with, but where nothing will ever come of it. So every day I go out there, approaching women I have never met before, and hacking their world, putting myself in a position where I can learn from them and see them again.

The only person that will stay with you for your entire life is yourself. We are born alone and we will die alone. Phone numbers, dates, relationships, they are all illusions we subscribe to because it makes us feel good. But, like any illusion, they are not grounded in reality, they are not a constant in the universe. The only question is how long we cling to one illusion before accepting it for what it is and moving on to something else.
