A kid is not a small thing to mention. I'd probably avoid mentioning your child until you're certain of the relationship and want it to go somewhere. You also don't want to burden your child by continually introducing him/her to each person you are dating.

That's odd. Usually woman find it a sign of commitment and maturity when you are a single father.

Don't mention it until you have gotten to know her well enough that you know you would trust her around the baby - as in until you actually know her pretty well. You aren't on a girlfriend interview you are on a date. Girlfriend privileges come later.

Chances are once she knows you and trusts you a bit, learning that you have a baby won't be too hard. Getting over that hump in the first minute is going to make this process way tougher.
