I wonder sometimes if high HB's do this sort of thing to shit test the guy she's with. They typically know that just looking at a guy from across the room is going to bring him over, and so there's definitely the sense that she's doing this on purpose. Careful though, it's also been suggested that women subconsciously get off on violence.

Should have gone up and done Richard la ruinas method. "how have you been?" She made eye contact multiple times. If yoy open with it puts the guy off because he thinks you two know each other.

I do the exact opposite. I go in slap the guy on the shoulder and open him first. Just ask how they know eachother once the conversation starts.

I have a lot more luck NOT insulting anyone, and instead integrating myself into whatever social circle is already there. End up being able to instantly get report with any other female friends in the group that show up as they assume I know someone well there.

Personally I'd just roll up when the guy is there, lock eye contact with her, shoot a massive smile and say "Didn't your mother teach you it's rude to stare?"; from there gauge the situation by reaction and either introduce myself to the guy and girl or bail.

You'll never know unless you try.
