I've been doing approaches for 12 years and if i hesitate I still get nervous and start overthinking. Dont think. Just act. Trust your mouth to know what's up lol as soon as you see them ; go say hello without thinking. And smile. And trust your instincts from there.

My impression is that you feel overloaded with variables and are attached to the outcome. Let's see if we can make your life more simple.

Go out with a friend that you trust. This friend is someone you'd be willing to cry to if your parents died. Let them know that you want to practice with women and you need their help. Your friend's job is to tell WHAT girl to approach, and to give you 1-2 conditions that are arbitrary. Have him tell you to approach everyone, including people he knows you're not attracted to. Your job is to take action within 1 second of the time he stops talking and you're not allowed to pre-plan what you're going to say. If you don't do the approach, you owe $20 for every one you miss.

For example, you give your friend permission to say to you, "Approach the girl in the white top with her friend. You're going to tease her about her really large purse"

You might approach and say, "Hi, excuse me. I couldn't help but notice that purse is larger than you are. It seems to me that you're a drug dealer that fashionably sells cocaine by the kilo" (This is something of a push pull, but don't worry about that exact detail). Say whatever ridiculous or normal shit comes to mind. You're a scientist conducting an experiment - without a hypothesis of what the outcome will be - you just want to see it all happen live.

Your friend might also say, "Approach that girl reading the book, you're going to take it out of her hand, look at it, and tell her it's below her reading level."

Now, if you have ANY respect for your friend - because you asked for help and he's spending time helping you - you BETTER make an HONEST effort to reciprocate his efforts. This should help free your mind of the responsibility for the outcome - you know it's not probably not going to work to attract someone. The goal is to do this for a while and get your brain knowing that nothing bad happens. Since you're 'just following orders' you can mentally assign the responsibility for anything that happens to him.
