Dear Reddit,

I'm a awkward 33 year old guy. Never had a girlfriend. have had some one night stands. my conversations with girls are mostly very awkward but i cant understand why excatly. i feel i ask them "normal things". Heres a conversation i had at a bar last night.

Girl looks at me and seems interested. Later sits down and starts to talk:

She: Have you been here before?

Me: Yes, i've come here for a year. You?

She: first time here.

Me: Ok, do you like it?

She: Yes

Me: would you come again?

She: yes

<awkward silence. i feel like i've got nothing more to ask her and start looking around myself. she starts talking to another guy beside her. soon she says to me:

She: When did you get here?

Me: around 11 PM. And you?

She: A hour ago. Was there a lot of people here when you came?

Me: some couples but mostly guys.

i try to look at the other guy to join him into the conversation. he like looks at me like "Im not gonna help you". Hes interested in the girl for himself. later i see the girl walk past me on her way out. she's not considering saying good bye to me.

so what am i doing wrong? my voice was a bit forced and awkward throughout the conversation but i feel there is something wrong with the content.

i've got decent looks, and think thats the only reason she was interested in me to begin with.

please help.
