Bumble and Tinder have not treated me well, mainly due to a lack of matches. I've also tried OkCupid and its more depressing than anything because it seems to be the place that a weird people end up. Which I why I am blown away at how well Hinge has been working for me. I set up a profile with literally the same shit as I used in my Bumble and tinder and within a day I've had 11 matches, all of which entailed promising conversation, and I've had two dates. In 24 hours. And for the first time ever I'm like trying to juggle the different women I'm meeting up with because it is becoming a bit of a time impediment.

I think that the way Hinge is designed is powerful insofar as it requires you to select a specific detail of a person's profile in order to like them. Even in my own swiping, I find it helps me really assess who is going to be someone I will genuinely get along with, and I find myself swiping left to a lot of girls who are really hot but I just know I'm not gunna jive with. I'm really confused as to why it is working but I can't complain. Another part of me thinks that hinge plays specifically to my strengths, whereas tinder and bumble did not. For instance, what gets you a right swipe on tinder, more often than not, is being a fantastical instagram picture (eg portraying that you are super sexy or wholesome, and just generally embodying an energy a girl wants directed at them). Hinge, on the other hand, seems to require a person genuinely questioning if they would like to meet you and have a conversation with you. I am decently good looking but that didnt do anything for me on tinder or bumble. Moreover, I am not amazing at pop-culture flirtation type stuff, which I feel is a big part on tinder. I am, however, decently interesting as a person and a good conversationalist in a more reserved sense. I dont know. How have your experiences been?
