Not sure but having your intent in mind helps me. Thinking I love you while looking in their eyes or Im going to fuck the shit out of you lol. You have a conversation with your eyes so if you don't have anything to say I imagine it would feel weird just looking into someones eyes.

Re: eye contact, mirror the girl. If shes comfortable with holding intense eye contact with you, you do the same. If she looks away, then do the same, but still maintain confidence when you do so.

Try and hold eye contact long enough to figure out what colour their eyes are. It will come naturally as you get used to it.

Don't wait for an invite to smile at her, go in with the attitude that you are going to smile at her, eye contact should be part of that too of course.

In my humble opinion, eye contact is a pure power game. If you can actually make an effort and hold eye contact in no time you'll get a lot confortable with it. It's kinda cliché but it's all about confidence
