I’m 20 years old, never had a girlfriend, I mostly just go to work, do online school, and post on my social media’s. I don’t hangout with people much either these days.

I had many chances in high school to ask girls out. I failed multiple times with the same girl. Thing is, I fumbled the ball hard back then, she obviously liked me and I was too immature to man the fuck up and ask her out. It’s one of my biggest regrets in life so far. I do realize she was my first true crush and I had no guidance, but it pains me that I could’ve experienced love much earlier in life and had experience that I simply don’t have now. I have other regrets with different girls as well. I failed a lot, and now I haven’t had a good opportunity in a long time.

Partly why I have a tough time getting over this regret of mine, is my college experience. I went to community college my first 2 years, and that was a social life killer. This semester I’m in a new school, but because of the pandemic it’s all online. I’ve talked to a few girls from my school, but it eventually goes no where because I can’t meet them in person. It’s ultimately a waste of my time to get invested in someone romantically who I can’t meet.

I feel like I’m stuck. Normally that regret wouldn’t hurt me as much since my college experience that I was expecting this year would’ve brought me an opportunity to meet cute girls my age, but COVID slammed the world. I studied hard and excelled in community college to get out of my small town so I could have new opportunities, and that was taken away from me.

I constantly wish I could go back to my high school self and slap him, tell him to go for her even though the logistics would’ve been tough. If I only knew back then what my future would hold. I’m sure I’m not the only person who feels this way.

Side note: I tried putting this on the ask men sub, and I got denied no matter the title. I thought here would be the next best spot to put this post.
