Honestly, from personal experience, when I went through a break up. I just occupied my time with friends and personal interests. If I had nothing to do with my time, I was stuck thinking and wallowing in my own self pity. Not the same situation but maybe this will help. You do this enough and it will subside.

START thinking about something else that you care about more than girls.

If you're feeling out of control of what you're thinking about, you're clearly without a goal that you're moving as much of your energy as possible towards.

Stop telling yourself to stop thinking about her. If I told you not to think of an elephant. whatever you do DO NOT think of an elephant. DO NOT THINK OF AN ELEPHANT.

You thought of an elephant, right?

Surrender to the thoughts: indulge in fantasy or whatever for a set time. Set yourself a time when you can think of her. Be it 10 minutes, or when you are about to sleep or whatever. If she pops up on your mind say you'll revisit that thought at X time.
Write a letter to her, make a song about her, draw something.
Find other activities or people that keep you busy.
Go talk to her.

-pinch yourself everytime you think of her.. obviously won't work if you're into pain :P
