Mate ik it seems like a big deal, I've been in your shoes. I was 140kg all the way through highschool and up until 19 was a kissless virgin. I've since shreaded like 40kgs and lift 3x a week. I wouldn't stress it.

As for what to do, if you have no confidence that you belong with a chick, that's exactly what will happen. It's a pretty vicious cycle.

Get some hobbies, gym (for looks and health) and make sure you enjoy your life. I'm dating an awesome chick now, but before that I was (and still am) my own person. My girlfriend could end shit tonight, and while I'd miss her, I know I'd find someone else further down the line.

But yes cold approaching will get your results. It's a numbers game tbh.

Okay first off most your friends are probably lying. Most high school guys like about that stuff so they don't seem behind. For a high schooler I'd just start with two parts: inside and outside class. Outside class, join a club, sport or get more productive hobbies. Gym, biking, etc. Inside class, talk to the people around you. Doesn't have to be just women, just be friendly and people will be friendly back. Just talking to more women is a great place for a beginner to start to get rid of those "women are scary" nervousness you might have. One post on here a bit ago is have a goal of talking to 5 women a day. I really clicked with that so I have been doing that for a while now.

Other than what I said, when you turn 18 tinder is good and bad. It's dating on super easy mode because there's clear signs a girl is attracted to you, but setting up dates is hit or miss. I used it a lot when I was getting started because I'd only been on like 2 dates in highschool, neither initiated by me. Going to parties with your buddies is good too for meeting girls your age. Just walk up and ask if she's having a good night, make some observations like "you look like you're nationality from country, am I right?" and roll with that. Even if you're totally off you can joke about it and it makes the conversation light-hearted.

I wouldn't recommend day game for you because a girl would be sketched out if she figures out you're 17 even though that's legal and I personally don't like lying to women as it's more trouble than it's worth, plus dishonesty isn't my thing.

There's probably a girl at school who's into you. Anyone you might talk to or you've stolen glances from, might as well just give it a shot and see where it goes.
