Dude, you don't need a reason to do whatever the fuck you want to do whether or not you have people with you or not. If they ask about your posse, you tell them you're here for the music or whatever the reason is that you are there. "Why are you here by yourself?" Because you are a mother fucking badass that doesn't need a posse to validate your experience. Your here to enjoy yourself and everyone else pussied out and stayed home and subsequently missed out on some hella cool shit. Don't give off the aire of a mother fucking badass though, just be your self while letting them know you do what you want to do when you want to do it and you don't need anyone to tell you that you are having a good time.

I would tell the truth.

"Where are your friends?"

"Don't know. They didn't want to see [band], so I came without them. Where are yours?"

This answer makes you seem independent, and also implicitly highlights the fact that you and the chick agree on musical taste.

Plus any time you're being honest, you're building rapport.

Asking why you are there alone isn't a shit test. At worst its curiosity at best it's a logistical question. Just tell the truth, none of your friends wanted to go but you weren't going to let that stop you. Plus you have a habit of meeting new people and getting into adventures anyways.

I've used "they took off a little earlier" at a concert when meeting up with a separate group of friends from work, but at the time it was the truth. My buddy had been partyin a bit too hard and accidentally knocked my beer out of my hand, spilling it all over his pants. It actually broke his blackberry and he was pissed that the concessions had stopped selling beer after the concert started, so he just took off with a few others and I told him I wanted to finish the concert before stopping by his place. Come to think of it, you could use that story if you want, or one similar to it. I doubt you'll be asked though.

Fuck what people think. If you own whatever reason you are there, its fine. If you don't come off as a big loser, people instead think you are cool for being able to go out by yourself and not be afraid. If you come off unconfident, they think you are lame and have no friends.

Just say your friends went to some other lamer thing you didn't to go to (even if that thing is staying home and sleeping) or you have wider taste in music. I go to a lot of shows by myself, I don't usually "sarge" much though because I'm there for the music and I don't have any friends that listen to as much music as me that would want to go on a weekday etc. I find talking about shows I've been to be a good DHV for me in general though.

Passion and hobbies are desirable. Your line may want to focus on that, but I don't know the rules of seduction well. I would think that your obvious passion for the music would probably be a good conversation topic for whomever you may meet at the concert, though.
