How to start kino on café / bar dates?

How do I start kino on dates where the girl expects just a drink and some chitchat when they sit across you from a too large table when reaching becomes awkward? I try choosing a good spot usually on a couch and invite them to sit next to me and out of townies I offer to pick them up from station, parking so I can start kino when walking to the bar but sometimes they just want to sit across the table...
